About Me
Hello, I’m Felipe Quinto da Luz — a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. I’m committed to creating a safe, supportive space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
My career has taken me across both Australia and Brazil, working in public and private settings as well as in leading universities, including the University of Sydney and the University of São Paulo. These experiences have shaped the way I practise: with curiosity, respect, and a deep appreciation for each person’s unique story.
I’m particularly interested in the many ways mental health influences our daily lives (and vice-versa). Over the years, I’ve conducted extensive research into eating disorders, obesity, and emotional challenges such as depression and anxiety. I also have a strong commitment to supporting people experiencing difficulties related to drug and alcohol addiction, trauma, psychosis, and psychosocial disability.
I believe that psychological and behavioural therapies have evolved in powerful ways, giving us effective tools to help people build resilience, develop healthier patterns, and move toward a more fulfilling life. In my work, I draw on evidence‑based approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing.
My goal is to work alongside you — helping you understand what’s getting in the way, strengthening the skills you already have, and supporting you as you create lasting, positive change.

Our Psychology Services for NDIS Participants*
At Psychology Skills, we provide compassionate, evidence‑based psychological support to help NDIS participants build confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing. Our services are designed to address emotional, cognitive, and behavioural challenges while empowering individuals to work toward the goals that matter most to them.
We offer comprehensive, disability‑focused assessments to understand each participant’s unique strengths and support needs. Using these insights, our psychologists develop personalised intervention plans that focus on building practical life skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening social connections, and enhancing daily functioning.
Our therapeutic support helps participants manage challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and grief. We also work closely with families, carers, and support workers, providing psychoeducation and guidance to ensure the participant’s support network feels confident and equipped to contribute to their progress.
To ensure holistic and coordinated care, we collaborate with other allied health professionals and NDIS teams. We also provide clear, detailed reports to support NDIS planning and help participants advocate for the services and supports they need.
*If your NDIS plan is "self" or "plan" managed, you can access psychological supports from us if it is included in your plan.
